The Twins paced the league with just 715 runs allowed. Minnesota scored 780 runs. Corey Koskie led the squad with 25 home runs, while Lew Ford, Torii Hunter, Jacque Jones and Justin Morneau each walloped 20 or more also. Torii Hunter drove in 81 runs. Lew Ford topped all regular batters by hitting .299. Johan Santana paced the squad with 20 wins and a team-best 2.61 ERA, best among regularly-used pitchers.

Ron Gardenhire coached the team. The 2004 Minnesota Twins qualified for the playoffs as a division winner.
