The Red Sox plated 658 runs and yielded 775 runs, most in the league. Ted Williams paced Boston with 29 home runs, and Vic Wertz walloped 20 or more as well. Vic Wertz recorded 103 runs batted in. Pete Runnels led all regular hitters by hitting .320. Bill Monbouquette topped the team with 14 wins, while Billy Muffett recorded a 3.24 ERA, leading regularly-used pitchers.
