The Reds led the circuit with just 597 runs allowed. Cincinnati scored 693 runs. Chris Sabo paced the team with 25 home runs, while Eric Davis and Paul O'Neill walloped 20 or more also. Eric Davis drove in 86 runs. Barry Larkin topped all qualifying hitters on the roster by hitting .301. Tom Browning paced the squad with 15 wins, and Jose Rijo earned a 2.70 ERA, best among regularly-used pitchers.

Lou Piniella coached the team. The 1990 Cincinnati Reds won the World Series.
