The Dodgers scored 820 runs and allowed 751 runs. J. D. Drew and Nomar Garciaparra led Los Angeles with 20 home runs apiece., while Rafael Furcal walloped 20 or more, too. J. D. Drew drove in 100 runs. Nomar Garciaparra topped all regular batters by connecting at a .303 clip. Derek Lowe and Brad Penny paced the team with 16 wins each, and Derek Lowe recorded a 3.63 ERA, best among regularly-used pitchers.

Grady Little coached the team. The 2006 Los Angeles Dodgers qualified for the playoffs as a wild card.
