The Yankees scored 914 runs and allowed 691 runs. Joe DiMaggio walloped 32 home runs for New York, while Yogi Berra and Johnny Mize swatted 20 or more also. Yogi Berra drove in 124 runs. Phil Rizzuto led all regular batters by hitting .324. Vic Raschi topped the squad with 21 wins, and Tommy Byrne, Eddie Lopat and Allie Reynolds each added 15 or more wins, too Eddie Lopat recorded a 3.47 ERA, tops among regularly-used pitchers.
