Bob Elliott compiled a career batting average of .289 with 170 home runs and 1195 RBI in his 1978-game career with the Pittsburgh Pirates, Boston Braves, New York Giants, St. Louis Browns and Chicago White Sox. He began playing during the September 2, 1939 season and last took the field during the September 16, 1953 campaign. Elliott was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1960.
