Ben Oglivie compiled a career batting average of .273 with 235 home runs and 901 RBI in his 1754-game career with the Boston Red Sox, Detroit Tigers and Milwaukee Brewers. He began playing during the September 4, 1971 season and last took the field during the October 5, 1986 campaign. Oglivie was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1992.
