Preacher Roe compiled a career record of 127 wins and 84 losses in his 333-game career with the St. Louis Cardinals, Pittsburgh Pirates and Brooklyn Dodgers. He began playing during the August 22, 1938 season and last took the field during the September 4, 1954 campaign. Roe was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1960.
