The Seattle Supersonics of the National Basketball Association ended the 1986-87 season with a record of 39 wins and 43 losses, finishing fourth in the NBA's Pacific Division of the Western Conference. The team compiled a postseason mark of 7-7.

The Supersonics tossed in 9,325 points and conceded 9,287. Dale Ellis scored a team-high 2,041 points for Seattle, while Xavier McDaniel and Tom Chambers netted 18 or more per game, too. Xavier McDaniel and Alton Lister each contributed 705 rebounds. Nate McMillan dished out 583 assists for the squad.

On the defensive side of the ball, Nate McMillan added 125 steals, and Alton Lister blocked 180 shots.

Bernie Bickerstaff coached the team. The 1986-87 Seattle Supersonics lost in the conference finals.
