The BC Lions of the Canadian Football League ended the 1982 season with a record of 9 wins and 7 losses for 18 points, finishing fourth in the CFL's West Division.
The Lions moved the ball well, scoring 449 points, and the defensive squad allowed 390. Roy Dewalt passed for 2,505 yards, and Joe Paopao spent time under center, too. Mervyn Fernandez grabbed 64 balls for 1,046 yards.
Larry Key carried the pigskin for a team-leading 820 yards for BC, while John White also buoyed the ground attack.
The opportunistic defense pounced on 54 turnovers. Larry Crawford intercepted 4 opponent throws. Nick Hebeler topped the defensive unit with 14 quarterback sacks, part of an overall team total of 53 sacks.
