The BC Lions of the Canadian Football League ended the 1997 season with a record of 8 wins and 10 losses for 16 points, finishing fourth in the CFL's West Division. The team compiled a postseason mark of 0-1.

The Lions ran up 429 points, but the defense yielded 536. Damon Allen directed the offense, slinging for 4,653 yards. Alfred Jackson grabbed 79 passes for 1,322 yards, while Larry Thompson contributed to the receiving game as well.

Sean Millington carried the ball for a team-leading 865 yards for BC, and Damon Allen also contributed to the rushing attack.

Don Wilson and Maurice Kelly each seized 4 opponent throws. Virgil Robertson and Joe Fleming each sacked opposing passers 9 times.

Adam Rita coached the team. The 1997 BC Lions lost in the Division Semifinal.
