The Browns scored 251 points, but the shaky defensive squad surrendered 344, most in the circuit. Greg Pruitt ran for a team-leading 540 yards for Cleveland, while Hugh McKinnis and Ken Brown additionally buoyed the ground attack.
Mike Phipps passed for 1,384 yards. Hugh McKinnis topped all receivers, snagging 32 passes, while Steve Holden added 452 receiving yards, while Milt Morin contributed to the receiving game, too.
The ball-hawking defense created 40 turnovers. Thom Darden picked off 8 errant tosses from the opposition.
