New England scored 362 points, while the rigid defensive squad allowed 290. Tony Eason threw for 2,156 yards, and Steve Grogan played quarterback, too. Tony Collins paced pass catchers, catching 52 passes, while Stanley Morgan accumulated 760 receiving yards. Irving Fryar was targeted regularly also.

Craig James rushed for a team-best 1,227 yards for the Patriots.

The sticky-fingered defense led the way with 47 turnovers. Fred Marion picked off 7 errant tosses from the opposition. Andre Tippett topped the defensive unit with 16.5 quarterback sacks.

Raymond Berry coached the team. The 1985 New England Patriots lost in the Super Bowl.
