The defense proved to be a force, as the Patriots conceded 238 points, the lowest total in the circuit. New England netted 348 points. Tom Brady led the charge, throwing for 3,620 yards. Deion Branch caught 57 passes for 803 yards, while Kevin Faulk provided receiving help, too.
Antowain Smith rushed for a team-best 642 yards, while Kevin Faulk also buoyed the ground attack.
The ball-hawking defense pounced on 41 turnovers. Tyrone Poole and Ty Law each intercepted 6 errant tosses from the opposition. Mike Vrabel sacked quarterbacks 9.5 times, leading the way for a team which created 41 sacks.
