Frank Hughes scored 42 goals for the team, while Mark Howe, Murray Hall, Jim Sherrit, Larry Lund and Gordie Howe each tallied 30 or more, too. Gordie Howe contributed 69 assists. Don McLeod earned 33 wins for the squad and a team-best 2.56 goals against average, leading goalies with significant playing time.

Bill Dineen coached the team. The 1973-74 Houston Aeros won the AVCO Cup.
